Big Momma's House 2

5/10

IT WAS FREE OK? Big Sisters of Calgary gave me tickets to see this with Kevin. I have to admit though, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn't good, but when compared to the previous post (Hostel) it was friggin Schindler's List.

Hostel

1.5/10

...and trust me, that's being NICE. I have mentioned in previous reviews that people feel they have to make up the DUMBEST most BIZARRO storylines since most concepts have been accomplished already. This was one of them. I went to see this since it was created by the makers of "Cabin Fever", one of the funniest horror movies I have seen in a long time. You can imagine my reaction when the first section of the opening credits mentioned that Quentin Tarantino was a "presenter". Goodness Gracious Mercy Maud. No wonder this movie was so messed up. I didn't watch half of the torture scenes since I am such a pansy-ass...and couldn't wait for the end of the movie to arrive. Honestly, it was an hour and a half that I can never get back.

Why did I give it a 1.5 then? Well, do you even have to ask? The popcorn was good, and in my mind, the popcorn has EVERYTHING to do with the whole movie experience.

Last Holiday

7/10

Gill and I went to Banff for the day and watched this movie. It was between this one, Narnia (gay) or King Kong (gayer). Anyhooo this movie was fun. By no means an award winner, but a nice turn-off-your-brain-and-enjoy-type-of- flick. Beautiful scenery. As well, it really makes you ponder how short life really is....and how it should be lived to the fullest...Queen Latifah rocks. Big and beautiful prevails!

p.s

Long gone are the days of the full-time projectionists. They are now taken over by 15 yr old kids that can't centre the image on the screen or focus the projector. In this case, there was difficulty concerning keeping the image from shaking. Shame.
